Practice Egg Hunt
We've had Gary on a rigorous egg hunt training regimen so that when the official hunt happens at the ranch he can dominate his cousins!
He was doing great. He filled his basket, emptied it in the stroller, and went back for more.
Then the Easter Bunny showed up. I had told him the Easter Bunny would probably not be there because he hides the eggs and then leaves. But this one came, and Gary couldn't believe how lucky he was to see him. Gary is in every picture taken by the other families there.
I don't know where they got the bunny suit, or the guy wearing it, but it was the worst Easter Bunny ever. The head wouldn't stay on so the guy couldn't look down without it falling off, and he couldn't see anything below his nose when he was standing up straight. He didn't seem to like kids and he cracked an egg over Gary's head. An actual, real, raw egg.
Gary kept wanting to say hi and show the bunny his egg basket and I think this is the only time the bunny saw or heard him. |
He seemed like he'd never held a baby before. Of course Margaret didn't mind. |
I have no idea why he cracked an egg over Gary's head. There was an egg toss so I guess that's where he got the egg. I'm sure he didn't see Gary in front of him. He just cracked the egg in the air and it fell out onto Gary's head. The bunny never spoke a word the entire time he was there and I have no idea where he was looking when he did it. Gary was a little surprised at first but got over it. On the way out he was yelling from the stroller, "Bye rabbit! Bye rabbit!"
On a totally separate note, we had our first E.R. trip last night. Gary drank windshield wiper fluid so he had to have his blood tested for methanol. He ended up being fine but we spent a couple hours there. On the way out he said, "Thank you! Thank you everybody!"
